Équiterre Celebrates Volunteer Week!

Published on

Actu - Semaine d'action bénévole

Volunteering is in our DNA. Committed, dedicated volunteers have always been involved in Équiterre projects, giving their time and helping us fulfill our mission. Few projects have not benefited from their invaluable support. What would we do without them?

Interns, action group members and general volunteers perform various tasks: staffing booths, doing research, handling logistics, formatting documents, updating data, taking pictures, writing, editing and more.

Keep your eyes peeled—our volunteers are hard to spot. They blend right in at Équiterre and are very much a part of the team. Did you know that volunteers have been working at the Montreal office reception desk for several years now? On the communications side, press reviews have long been produced by two volunteers—one of whom has been coming here for a half-day each week for eight years! The examples are many and it’s amazing just how generous some of them are.

But it has to be said—we really look after our volunteers. When they start out, they attend a series of training sessions and are introduced to the Équiterre team. We also organize a recognition party every quarter so we can really get to know these generous souls. But the main action occurs in the day-to-day running of the office. At Équiterre, we have the kind of collegiality, respect and equality that are the envy of many organizations. Recognition of volunteers is the norm here and that attracts people we value highly.

This volunteer week, we would like to acknowledge the remarkable work of all our volunteers and say THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING.
