EAT GREEN, ONE BITE AT A TIME

We all eat every day. In this talk, you’ll learn how to make eating a healthy, green activity. The ways are endless : opt for local organic food, eat less animal protein, avoid food waste and overpackaging, create an indoor vegetable garden at home...

CENTRE FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: AN EXEMPLARY GREEN BUILDING

Since opening in 2011, the Centre for Sustainable Development has been a model green building. It was the first new commercial construction project in Quebec to receive LEED Platinum certification and has many innovative features: a green building materials library showcasing 87 of the world’s greenest materials, a real-time energy savings calculator, a self-guided interpretive tour with an interactive exhibit and guided group tours.

ECO-CITIZENSHIP

Our consumption choices have a significant impact on not only our health, but the health of the planet, too. Be a well-informed consumer and find out just how easy and gratifying it is to be an eco citizen.

This talk suggests simple, practical actions you can take—individually or collectively—to promote the development of a more eco-friendly and people-friendly economy. A great way to discover a wealth of solutions that can change the world, one step at a time!

Leading scientists, economists, decision makers, business leaders, and workers’, students’ and citizens’ groups all agree that climate change caused by human activity is real and well documented. With the historic Paris agreement approved by over 195 countries, including Canada, it’s time to act.

Depending on your interests, the talk can include further discussion on sustainable development, the green economy, renewable energy, international negotiations, dependence on oil, etc.
