CALL FOR PROJECTS that put healthy, local food on your students’ plates

Here’s an opportunity to increase the amount of healthy, local and environmentally responsible food that your students eat at school, while also having a positive impact on your community.

With funding from the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec, 100° will be awarding a total of $600,000 to encourage local food supply projects in Quebec’s public schools. In partnership with Équiterre and modelled after the Farm to School movement, these projects will seek to increase the proportion of local food that finds its way onto students’ plates, to encourage healthy eating habits and to promote local food procurement.

The call for projects begins today, November 3, and is open to all of Quebec’s public schools who wish to put more healthy and sustainable food on their menus.

Application forms are now available, with two ways to participate (two different initiatives):

  • 1. Call for projects – Feeding our students: for more healthy, fresh and local food on school menus
    $450,000 to distribute – Up to $15,000 per project:


    Various initiatives can be proposed for this call for projects, such as:
       · Setting up a salad bar in your school;
       · Offering healthy snacks on a regular basis;
       · Upgrading your cafeteria menu to include more healthy, local and environmentally responsible food choices.

  • Impulsion, le parcours d'accélération de 100°
    $150,000 to be distributed – Up to $25,000$ each for 6 teams:


    This initiative targets 3-to-5-person teams directly involved in school projects aimed at transforming their food systems. The goal is to support innovative ideas via a six-week online and in-person project development process that will bring new ideas to life and make our communities healthier. The process is set to kick off in the spring of 2021.

    We encourage you to propose sustainable, adapted solutions that are in tune with the realities of your school.

By offering students nutritious food and experience-based food education while supporting local, sustainable food supply chains, these initiatives are a win-win for students, communities, local farmers and local food economies.

The deadline for submitting your project is December 10, 2020.
