Food happening on Ste-Catherine and Clark

Our Épluche ta ville team invites you to yet another food happening, this time as part of the lunchtime Pique-nique en vert to be held on Thursday, August 15 in the parc Hydro-Québec next to the Maison du développement durable in Montreal.

You may have already seen our Épluche ta ville team in action. All summer long, they have been reaching out to the public with demonstrations of tasty recipes featuring locally grown ingredients. At the last event, participants were treated to a salad made with fennel, cherry tomatoes and corn, as well as a strawberry-melon juice. (If you're curious, check out the photos on Facebook.)

So bring your lunch and your picnic blanket, and wear something green. If your lunch contains at least one in-season fruit or vegetable from Quebec, or zero waste, you may even win a prize.

The David Suzuki Foundation and the WWF will also be on hand to give a workshop on sustainable fish, with samples.

Robert Cole, of the group Friend of All the World, will provide music with an indie folk flavour.

So join us at parc Hydro-Québec, outside of the Maison du développement durable (at 50 Ste-Catherine St. West, Montreal).

In case of rain, the event will be postponed until Tuesday, August 20.

In the meantime, watch our Épluche ta ville local food web doc series. (The website is in French, but the videos are subtitled in English. Enjoy!)
