Nearly 350 guests gathered yesterday in the Centre CDP Capital’s Parquet in Montreal for Équiterre’s annual cocktail benefit, as 200 others participated in our cocktail enefit in Quebec City on September 30th. The focus was on climate change and attendees—mainly from the business and sustainable development communities—enjoyed a unique networking evening in the spirit of the world climate conference to be held in Paris in a month’s time.

A CLOUD OF COMMITMENTS TO CHANGE THE WORLD ONE STEP AT TIME

Participating businesses were asked to announce their greenhouse gas reduction commitments, which were displayed on giant screens throughout the evening and posted on Équiterre’s Twitter feed. This was an original and effective way to get organizations involved in the fight against climate change. And, who knows—perhaps it will inspire other companies to do the same!

The event raised nearly $110,000 to fund various Équiterre projects, such as those involving climate change, local organic food, transportation electrification and fair trade.

Équiterre would like to thank everyone who contributed to the event’s success. Your support is essential and helps us to move forward with our projects.
