The first annual Canadian Fairtrade Awards, recognizing businesses for their commitment to ethical business practices that support farming communities and sustainable agriculture around the world, were presented this week in Toronto, to:

- Camino (by La Siembra)
- The Big Carrot
- Manitoba Liquor Marts (MLCC)
An independent panel of judges, including Equiterre's deputy executive director, Isabelle St-Germain, evaluated self-selected nominees on such criteria as marketing, education and engagement.
