Ice bear on display now

Polar Bear on Thin Ice comes to downtown Montreal.

As an emblem of the North, the polar bear invites us to reflect on climate change. What kind of impact is climate change having on wildlife, Arctic communities and the planet as a whole?

Our ice bear is a work of art created by artist Mark Coreth. It is an ice sculpture that melts away to expose a bronze skeleton.

The ice was carved by Inuit and Quebec artists on Thursday, April 5 in the Quartier des spectacles in Montreal. It will remain on display at the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Jeanne-Mance until Sunday, April 21.
