Thank you, Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois

Actu - Merci Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois

We were chuffed when former student leader Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois announced on Tout le monde en parle that he was donating the $25,000 he had won his for Governor-General's Literary award to Coule pas chez nous, a campaign to oppose TransCanada's proposed Energy East pipeline. He even challenged Quebecers to match his donation through a crowdfunding site, raising a whopping $140,000 in just twelve hours – and much more since.

Thank you all for supporting this kind of work!

For two years now, we've been travelling back and forth across Quebec to raise awareness about the environmental impact of proposed pipeline projects. This has led to the creation of citizens groups like Coule pas chez nous, which have also taken on the mantle, leading to a massive mobilization against Energy East.

More money to offset the astronomical amount of advertising and lobbying carried out by TransCanada is excellent news, but we also urge you to sign and share the No to tar sands petition – now at almost 68,000 signatures.
