Paula Marañón Jaramillo

With a bachelor’s degree in social work, specializing in group facilitation and community organizing, Paula has focused her career on alternative interventions, civic engagement, and working with marginalized groups. At the same time, driven by a curiosity to learn more about food security and the inner workings of the food system in Quebec, she pursued a vocational diploma in horticultural production. There, she discovered a passion for the field and spent several years focusing on market gardening at small-scale organic farms, working with vegetables, flowers, fruits, and mushrooms in the Montérégie and Charlevoix regions.

Reflecting on the future that awaits coming generations and wanting to integrate her dual expertise and values into her professional life, she joined Équiterre’s mission in August 2026 to play an active role in the ecological transition.

At Équiterre, Paula works on mobilisation efforts, with the goal of strengthening the organization’s initiatives through collective action.
