Équiterre and outdoor retailer co-op MEC are proud to join forces again this year to fight climate change. We love winter and want to enjoy it for years to come!
1. Tag your beautiful winter photos on Instagram with #notre hiver!
Whether you’re in town or deep in the woods, we’d love to see your frosty faces! For every tagged photo on Instagram, MEC will donate $2 to Équiterre, up to $10,000. Be sure to post your photos by March 20, 2018. *Pssst: you can tag old photos, too ;)

2. Play outdoors—the green way.
Many studies show that spending time outdoors helps reduce stress. It also improves physical and mental health, and boosts creativity and concentration. And children reap the most benefits! As adults, they’ll be more connected with their environment and more likely to protect the planet. Read Get Moving and Go Green! for ideas on how to play outside the green way. 3. Pose for a picture in the protect #notre hiver photo booth on Nuit Blanche, March 3.
Come to Montreal’s Quartier des spectacles during the Nuit blanche and have your photo taken in front of a spectacular winter landscape backdrop of your choice. The photo you receive will remind you of your action for the planet!
If you share it during the night with the tag #notre hiver, you’ll have a chance to win one of two $250 MEC gift cards. Just make sure you post your photo between 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3 and 12:00 noon on Sunday, March 4. (If you can’t make it to the photo booth, you can still enter the contest. Just post a photo during the night with the same tag!)

Other activities at the Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD) on Nuit Blanche. Enjoy a hot drink at a special price served by Bistro Marius while you wait to have your picture taken in the photo booth. Or come in to CSD and sit down for a while with a new friend and discuss climate change over a bowl of soup as part of ATSA’s Le Temps d’une Soupe.
4. Encourage the #notre hiver Équiterre team in the Pentathlon des neiges.
This Quebec City event combines winter biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice skating and running. We’ll be sharing news on our team’s training, as well as tips for taking part the green way on Équiterre’s Facebook page (zero-waste snacks, using second-hand equipment, carpooling, etc.). We’re up for the challenge!
