Want to help the environment? Do you know about the Laure Waridel bursary for student researchers? This $10,000 grant supports action research that makes a difference to society. This year’s themes are renewable energies, transportation, pesticides and organic food. Other social or environmental topics are also accepted.

Students pursuing a master’s or PhD at a Quebec university have until midnight on January 15, 2017 to send in an application by post or e-mail.

Find out the eligibility requirements.

Each year, Équiterre gives $5,000, which is matched by Desjardins Caisse d’économie solidaire, Quebec’s leading financial institution specializing in social economy and responsible investment. Previous winning projects include:
– Development and dissemination of an educational and teaching kit, École-O-Champ, to bring sustainable farming and food to schools and other public institutions;
– Comparative analysis of four wheat-farming methods in Quebec;
– Study on the impact of neonicotinoid pesticides on bees.

Priority is given to projects using a transdisciplinary approach, that is, those developed in close collaboration with various professionals working in the research project’s subject area.

Please share with eligible students to help us find practical solutions to change the world, one step at a time.
