Ambiguous, obsolete and unfair laws governing charities are actually silencing many of them. These NGOs, who are working to influence public policy in your name, are experiencing costly audits of their political activities by the Canada Revenue Agency. Corporations, on the other hand, can spend freely on lobbying, advertising and any other political activity and can deduct 100% of those expenses from their income.
