Équiterre is proud to be part of the Front commun pour la transition énergétique [united front for energy transition], officially launched last Tuesday in Montreal. This historic alliance brings together more than 160 citizen, environmental and Native groups from across the province. From the Îles de la Madeleine [Magdalen Islands] to the Ontario border, members are joining together to highlight their collective desire to stop the development of the oil industry and promote clean, local, renewable energies that create jobs.

This new platform is also a forum for sharing tools to help citizens understand the issues involved and participate in the public debate.
Équiterre is not just a member of the Front commun pour la transition énergétique. We’re on the coordinating committee. This collaboration between civil society actors is essential to advance this province-wide movement to allow Quebec to end its dependence on oil.
