Van Houtte will now only serve fair trade coffee certified by Fairtrade Canada in its 61 café-bistros across Quebec. It is the first Quebec chain to make a commitment of this kind to fair trade.
Isabelle St-Germain, deputy director of Equiterre, commends Van Houtte for this "important gesture, which will help to educate Van Houtte café-bistro customers, and influence other companies to follow suit."
