Épluche ta ville

Projet - Épluche ta ville

Do you eat the recommended five servings of fruits and vegetables a day?

According to one recent study by Montreal's public health agency, most Montrealers don't.

It is hard to pinpoint one reason for this problem, which is widespread, and appears to affect people regardless of income, age, gender, etc.

And yet, there is a growing interest in local food. A Canada-wide 2010 survey conducted by Leger Marketing for Equiterre found that as many as 77% of respondents would like to eat local.

New this year, our Épluche ta ville campaign promotes healthier eating by encouraging Montrealers to eat more local produce.

Campaign goals:

  • Educate 100,000 Montreal families on the importance of eating more local fruits and vegetables.
  • Let families know what kind of local fruits and vegetables are available.
  • Make families aware of issues surrounding healthy eating and eating local.
  • Mobilize families and agents of change to promote the consumption of local fruits and vegetables.

Épluche ta ville consists of three parts:

  • a web doc profiling local food initiatives and the people behind them (the website is in French but the videos are subtitled in English – enjoy!).
  • food happenings (taste tests) – visit our calendar regularly for information on upcoming events
  • a media campaign
En résumé:  Showcasing healthy local food in Montreal.
