The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)

The purpose of Canadian assistance is to support sustainable development in developing countries, in order to reduce poverty and to contribute to a more secure, equitable and prosperous world. CIDA's mandate is to reduce poverty, to promote human rights and to support sustainable development. Through its Public Engagement Fund, CIDA seeks to increase awareness, understanding and engagement of Canadians in international development issues and programs. The organization has supported Equiterre for many years in its various activities to educate the public on fair trade.

The Association québécoise des organismes de coopération internationale (AQOCI)

The Quebec association of international cooperation organizations consists of 63 Quebec organizations working, abroad and at home, for sustainable and human development. Through its education and public engagement fund, AQOCI helps members raise public awareness of social justice and international development.

Fondation Rêve d'Esther

The educational mission of the Sisters of St. Anne funds Equiterre in various activities to raise awareness of fair trade and greater social justice.

Religious communities

Quebec’s religious communities also help raise awareness of fair trade.

International Development Research Centre (IDRC)

IDRC's mission is to support research projects on international development, particularly by supporting research organizations in the South. The bulk of the support is offered to organizations in the South who work in partnership with Canadian organizations. With the Canadian Partnerships program, IDRC also funds Canadian organizations researching international development, including Equiterre's project on food sovereignty and public policy.
