Mentor an organization

Published on

1- Define your project

  • More bike racks at your children's school? A corporate membership in Communauto at work?
  • Identify the benefits of your project – for the organization and its employees, for health and the environment.

2- Find Allies

  • Find colleagues and other people involved with the organization who support your idea.
  • Find out if there is an environmental committee or a sustainable development committee. If so, share your idea with them.
  • If necessary, create your own environmental committee, with the approval of management. You will need to clarify its role, goals, composition (ideally, with employees from various departments) as well as the nature of its activities.

3- Do research

  • Find examples of organizations that have already implemented similar initiatives.

4- Present your idea to management

  • Prepare your important points in advance (the strategic and economic benefits for the organization, examples of other organizations that have implemented similar initiatives, a list of resources, etc.). Ensure that management responds clearly to your request or gives a timeline for obtaining the answer.
