Executive Director
Colleen Thorpe
Executive Director
A graduate in Journalism, and holding a master's degree in Environmental Management, Colleen Thorpe has 25 years of experience in environmental advocacy and social change. She has excellent knowledge of sustainable food systems, circular economy and corporate social responsibility. During her career, she has led numerous programs aimed at influencing decision-makers and mobilizing citizens towards an ecological transition.
Colleen joined Équiterre in 2018, first as Senior Project Manager, then Program Director, before becoming General Manager in 2019. Previously, Colleen worked as a journalist for several television channels covering events in Quebec. She is also fluent in German, having worked and studied in Berlin for several years.
Colleen is a trustee of the UPA-Fondaction Agricultural Land Trust and sits on the board of directors of the Maison du développement durable. She was also a board member of the Centre des services partagés du Québec, the Système alimentaire montréalais and the Espace de concertation sur les pratiques d’approvisionnement responsable.
Since joining Équiterre in 2008, Colleen has specialized in corporate social responsibility and responsible consumption. She held the key post of Director of Programs and Services before being named Executive Director in 2019. Multilingual, she has degrees in environmental management and journalism, and has worked for such media outlets as Global, CFCF Television and CBC.

Director, Government Relations
Marc-André Viau
Director, Government Relations
With a master's degree in political science, Marc-André has worked as a political strategist at various levels of government. After an internship at the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels, Marc-André worked for several years on Parliament Hill in Ottawa in various capacities, including as senior press officer in the Office of the Leader of the Official Opposition in the House of Commons.
He subsequently contributed to the victory of Valérie Plante, the green mayor of Montreal, and worked as director of communications and senior political advisor. Since joining the Équiterre team in 2019, Marc-André has led the development of political advocacy, regularly making presentations to parliamentary committees and meeting with ministers, elected officials and other political decision-makers.
After several years in key roles in federal and municipal politics and having led numerous election campaigns, Marc-André joined Équiterre in 2019 as Director of Government Relations. His approach, which focuses on rigor, dialogue and transparency, allows him to lead Équiterre's collective choices team in order to exert maximum influence on our governments and accelerate change.

Cofounder of the Coopérative zéro déchet Incita, Amélie has worked in the waste management field for over 10 years. Active in associations as well as civic and environmental groups, she has developed a solid body of knowledge on reduction at source, management of recyclable and compostable materials, and the various related political and environmental issues. Amélie holds a Bachelor degree in Public Management with specialization in municipal administration and a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies.

Analyst, Sustainable Mobility
With a degree in computer engineering in France, Blandine held several jobs in the european banking sector, first in software programming and then in organizational consulting.
During a professional break of a few years, Blandine discovered the planetary limits model, which led her to a profound career path change and brought her to return school at Université de Montréal to earn a Master's degree in environment and sustainable development. Blandine also holds a certificate in international climate policy and negotiations from Université de Sherbrooke. Blandine joined Équiterre in May 2022. As head of her team, she masterfully managed various sustainable mobility projects before being appointed analyst in the summer of 2024.

Chargé de projet, Agriculture durable
Olivier holds a master's degree in development studies, during which he specialized in public policies in the environmental and agricultural sectors. He has various professional experiences in project management, analysis and research.
As a project manager at Équiterre since January 2024, he is responsible for coordinating the Bean Project and analyzing local agricultural policies.

Analyst, Climate and Energy policy
Charles-Édouard joined Équiterre in June 2024, and holds a bachelor's and master's degree in applied politics from Université de Sherbrooke. He has specialized in the adoption of a just transition in Quebec. As a member of the Pôle intégré sur la recherche en environnement, santé et société (PIRESS), he has also studied the role of electricity exports and Hydro-Québec's role on the international scene. For the past two years, he has been working in the municipal sector as a sustainable development consultant in Victoriaville, perfecting his expertise in land use planning, sustainable mobility and social acceptability issues.
