Last year we published the results of a survey by Leger Marketing that showed that Canadian consumers do most of their grocery shopping at one or two places of purchase. The most frequented place of purchase? The supermarket. The same survey showed that although many of us favour buying local, we aren't willing to spend much more time searching for local products.
That's why we're so pleased to announce a new pilot project in which three Metro grocery stores will serve as drop-off points for family farmers in our community supported agriculture (CSA) network.
Customers will now be able to pick up weekly baskets of certified organic, locally grown produce in the parking lots of three participating Metro stores, in Granby, Joliette and Trois-Rivières.
