Actu - Bourse Laure Waridel : agriculture urbaine à l'honneur

For the 5th year in a row, our members have joined forces with the Caisse d’économie solidaire to encourage the next generation of environmental leaders. This year's winner, Marcus Lobb, an undergraduate student in Geography and the Human Environment at Concordia, impressed the selection committee with his Concordia City Farm School project, which adheres to the social and environmental principles advocated by Equiterre and the Caisse d'économie solidaire Desjardins. This ambitious urban agriculture program includes three educational streams:

  • Market Gardener Internship (designed to create urban farmers who are interested in taking their veggies to market)
  • Medicinal Plants Internship
  • Schoolyard Gardener Internship

The bursary is now worth $10,000. It helps students conduct and broadcast environmental research related to Equiterre's fields of activity.

Congratulations to Marcus and thank you to our donors for supporting the next generation of environmental leaders.
