Would you like to show your children where their food comes from?

Are you curious to see what a farm looks like up close?

Or maybe you are just looking for a nice way to spend time with family and friends.

On Sunday, September 7, farms across Quebec are opening their doors to members of the public. A delightful activity for young and old.

Farm Open House Day, an activity organized by the Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA), gives you a chance to visit a farm in your region. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, a hundred or so farms will open their doors for this free event.

Four organic farms from our family farmer network are taking part:

  • Les Jardins Bio du Solstice, Mont-Laurier, Laurentides
  • Aux Jardins de la Bergère, St-Damien, Lanaudière
  • Vallon des Sources, Ripon, Outaouais
  • Ferme Croque-Saisons, Lingwick, Eastern Townships

As part of the event, an agricultural festival will be held in Montreal at parc Jean-Drapeau to demystify the world of farming:

  • corn roast
  • meetings with farmers
  • games and entertainment for children
  • farm animals and farm machinery on display
  • an Equiterre information booth presenting our organic baskets and family farmer network

It's a date! See you Sunday, September 7 at one of the participating farms or at parc Jean-Drapeau!
