Over the past few years, our Quebec City action group has launched a new tradition, an annual bike ride to a local organic farm.
This activity brings participants into contact with a local farmer for a chance to learn more about – and even try their hand at – organic farming.
This year, the tour will visit the St-Achillée organic farm for an approximately 63 km round trip.
Date: Saturday, August 30, 2014 (in case of rain, Sunday, August 31, 2014)
First departure point: 8:30 a.m. from Equiterre's office in Quebec City at 870, av. de Salaberry
Second departure point: From the Domaine de Maizerets at 9 a.m.
Bring a picnic lunch to eat at the farm. At the farm, you will have a chance to help the farmer in the fields.
Visit the Tour à la terre Facebook page for more information, including the route.
RSVP to quebec@equiterre.org by August 23. Space is limited to 20 people. First come, first served. This is a free activity.
Please note that plans are underway for a Tour à la terre in the Montreal region September 12, 2014. Details on Biking to D-3 Pierres farm.
