Mélanie Rechnitzer
Advisor, Sustainable Food
With a master’s degree in international development from Utrecht University in the Netherlands and a bachelor’s degree in international development and gender studies from McGill, Mélanie has worked in Montreal, West Africa, Latin America, and Europe, focusing on the gender-environment nexus as well as food security and nutrition within international and nongovernmental organizations.
Mélanie joined the Équiterre team in June 2026, eager to continue promoting sustainable food systems and getting involved in the environmental cause in Quebec.
In her role as a sustainable food advisor, she contributes to the projects “La marmite éducative” and “Planetary Health on the Menu at School".
